TVOC Witney Urban Race

Set against the historic backdrop of Witney, an ancient market town nestled just west of Oxford and renowned for its rich wool industry, this urban orienteering race promises to be both challenging and captivating. Participants will navigate through the winding streets of Witney, a setting that offers unique challenges distinct from traditional forest events. The terrain is less demanding but still presents plenty of obstacles for seasoned orienteers.
This event caters not only to experienced runners but also welcomes newcomers looking to dip their toes into the world of urban navigation. With courses ranging in length and difficulty, there's an option suitable for all skill levels. Course 1 at approximately 10 kilometers is designed for men aged 18-35, while shorter routes cater to veterans and juniors with specific safety measures in place.
For those familiar with the South of England Orienteering Urban League (SEOUL), entering your age class will ensure you're competing against peers. However, if league participation isn't a priority, simply choose whichever course length appeals most. The technical demands are comparable to an Orange-level race, making it accessible for anyone who can handle such courses.
The event is scheduled on November 15, 2026, providing runners with the opportunity to explore Witney's charming streets and historic landmarks in a unique way.
