PHOENIX - Wiltshire - Poppy Hope & Remembrance Run

Immerse yourself in the tranquility of Coate Water Country Park on November 1, 2026, for an unforgettable running experience at THE POPPY HOPE & REMEMBRANCE RUN. This scenic park offers a blend of well-maintained gravel and tarmac paths, lakeside tracks, and woodland trails that wind through the serene landscape.
The event is designed to cater to all runners, from those aiming for personal bests to casual walkers looking for a peaceful morning out in nature. Participants can choose their own adventure by completing as many or few 3.28-mile (5.28km) laps as they wish between 7:30 AM and 3:00 PM. Each lap offers the unique challenge of conquering Swindon's iconic 'Wurly' Bridge, a Brutalist-style concrete spiral footbridge that loops you up into the sky over the M4 motorway before descending into serene woodland trails.
The terrain is generally flat with just enough undulations to keep things interesting and perfectly suited for road shoes. The lap route includes lakeside paths where runners can enjoy views of Coate Water, surrounded by lush greenery and wildlife such as birdsong and scampering squirrels.
One highlight of the event is the famous Phoenix Aid Station located at both the start/finish line and every lap turnaround point. Here, runners will find a feast of refreshments tailored to cater for special dietary requirements including vegan and gluten-free options.
Participants who complete even just one lap are considered official finishers with an official time and receive a stunning medal that commemorates over 100 years of the Poppy as a symbol of Remembrance and Hope.
