About the event
Join Canyon Track Club on November 21, 2026, at Mallard Park in Caldwell for the Turkey Trot 4K, a festive pre-Thanksgiving run and walk. This revived tradition honors the legacy of the Boise Striders with a unique twist: teams compete tethered together for the first half before breaking free to race solo in the second half. Participants can wear their Thanksgiving best or come dressed in athletic gear ready to set personal records.
The 4K course winds through Mallard Park, featuring mostly hard-surface pavement and concrete paths. The event kicks off at 9:00 AM with a packet pickup starting at 8:15 AM near the park's gazebo by the start line flagpole. After crossing the finish line, runners can enjoy refreshments like bagels and hot chocolate while picking up their commemorative Turkey Trot socks.
Proceeds from this event support Canyon Track Club’s efforts to develop youth athletes for various regional and national track events. The club aims to promote physical fitness among all ages through running and walking exercise, fostering a positive environment where young athletes can grow in confidence and skill under the guidance of experienced volunteer coaches.
