About the Event

Join us on Thanksgiving morning for the 10th Annual Turk-EA Trot, an exciting USATF-sanctioned race that celebrates tradition and community spirit in East Aurora, New York. The race kicks off at 9 AM sharp from the Boys & Girls Club of East Aurora, offering runners a scenic two-loop course through local parks.
This family-friendly event is designed to be both fun and competitive, with participants encouraged to wear their most creative costumes as part of the festive atmosphere. After crossing the finish line, enjoy post-race festivities inside the gym at the Boys & Girls Club where awards will be presented for first male and female overall winners, top masters (ages 55+), best costume categories for both kids and adults, and age-group achievements.
Registration is available online through credit card until race day or until full capacity of 1,000 participants is reached. Early packet pickup on Tuesday, November 24th at 42 North Brewing Company allows runners to avoid the morning rush and enjoy a discount on their beverages that evening. Race-day registration will also be open from 7 AM inside the Boys & Girls Club.
The race course features two loops of approximately equal distance through East Aurora’s picturesque parks, providing opportunities for both competitive racing and scenic enjoyment. Walkers are advised to move to the outer lanes or use sidewalks during the second loop to allow faster runners to pass safely on the inner lane.
Post-race celebrations include a variety of homemade treats and apple cider in addition to awards presentations starting at 10 AM sharp. Chelsea from The Flour Farmhouse will be there with pre-ordered cookies available for pickup, as well as additional delicious options for purchase.
Proceeds from this event support local Boys & Girls Clubs initiatives across East Aurora, Elma, Marilla, and Wales (EMW), promoting youth development through sports programs and community engagement. Participants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to a nearby food bank upon registration or race day.
For more information about the Turk-EA Trot or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Holly R. Layer at [email protected] or call (937) 974-2521. Don’t miss out on this memorable Thanksgiving tradition!
