True Options Turkey Trot

The Sherman Turkey Trot returns to the charming city of Sherman on November 21st, 2026. This family-friendly race offers runners an opportunity to enjoy scenic fall views while supporting local families through True Options Pregnancy Center.
Race morning brings crisp air and clear skies typical for early November in Texas. The course begins at the historic downtown park, a vibrant setting with charming shops lining its paths. Runners will pass by the town square, where local businesses offer encouragement and refreshments before heading down Main Street towards the finish line.
True Options has been providing hope and support to men and women facing unplanned pregnancies for over a decade through this annual event. Whether you're an experienced runner or just looking for a casual morning activity with your family, there are distances available—1 mile Fun Run and 5K run—both starting at 8:00 AM.
The Sherman City Park serves as the course venue, featuring well-maintained paths that provide firm yet slightly soft terrain. Participants will start near downtown off Main Street before winding through the city's heart. Volunteers and water stops are expected to be available for runners who may need them; however, there are no aid stations along this 5K route.
Weather conditions on race day promise mild temperatures between 50°F (10°C) and 62°F (17°C), making it an ideal running environment. The UV index of 2.0 indicates low sun exposure, ensuring a comfortable run without the need for excessive sunscreen or worry about heat exhaustion.
