Troublesome Hollow 50K

Immerse yourself in the heart of Southwest Virginia at Troublesome Hollow for an unforgettable trail running adventure on April 10, 2027. This stunning race offers two options: the full 50K experience or a shorter yet scenic 25K journey through legendary trails.
The 50K route begins early in the morning with a choice of starting at either 8:00 AM or an optional 7:00 AM start for those seeking extra solitude. The course winds through picturesque river valleys, featuring iconic swinging bridges that sway over crooked rivers and challenging trestles. Runners will encounter one notable climb to reach the famous fire tower where they can take a moment to howl at the moon.
Joining runners on the 25K route are those who choose the Double Date option, starting alongside friends or fellow enthusiasts for an additional challenge. This course includes double crossings of the swinging bridge and scenic riverfront trails that offer breathtaking views of Mendota's natural beauty.
Both races celebrate the birthplace of country music with a pre-race packet pick-up at the Birthplace of Country Music Museum on April 9th, complete with screenings of historical films about this rich cultural heritage. Early starters should note that aid stations might not be fully set up upon arrival due to the early morning start times.
Troublesome Hollow isn't just a race; it's an invitation to connect with nature and local history in one of America’s most storied regions. Experience the magic firsthand on April 10th, where every step tells a story and every bridge swings over memories yet to be made.
