Tranquility Trail Run

Tranquility Lake Trail Race invites runners of all levels to enjoy the serene beauty of Oak Mountain State Park. Located just off Hwy 119 near I-65, this race offers two options: a 3-mile loop and an extended 6-mile course for those looking to push their limits further.
The event kicks off at Redbud Pavilion on March 7th with a relaxed start time of 8:00 AM. The first half mile follows Tranquility Road before leading runners into the heart of Oak Mountain State Park, where they will encounter gentle terrain and scenic woodland trails. Each lap features approximately 450 feet of elevation gain, providing enough challenge to make it feel like a true trail run while remaining accessible for beginners.
The loop begins and ends at Redbud Pavilion, offering easy navigation through the park’s lush landscapes. For those opting for the longer distance, simply doubling up on this picturesque route provides an enjoyable yet manageable experience. The course is designed with safety in mind, featuring aid stations along the way to ensure runners stay hydrated and energized.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants are greeted by a welcoming atmosphere where food and beverages await. This event isn’t just about running; it’s also about fostering community connections through shared stories and camaraderie among trail enthusiasts. The race is part of the Southeastern Trail Series, offering additional discounts for those interested in competing across multiple events throughout the year.
Registration closes on February 14th to secure a race shirt, but participants can still sign up until March 6th at packet pickup or the morning of the event. Awards will be given for both distances, including overall winners as well as youth categories for male and female runners under 14 years old. Oak Mountain State Park requires a $5 per-person entry fee on race day to access the park grounds.
