About the Event
The annual running festival promises an exhilarating day of competition and camaraderie for runners of all ages. The morning kicks off at 9:30 AM with the Mini Race, welcoming both boys and girls to compete on a scenic course stretching over 2470 meters from point A to B. Following closely at 10:00 AM is another race designed specifically for Benjamins and Mines, covering an equally challenging distance of 2340 meters. Both races conclude with podium ceremonies that celebrate the achievements of young athletes amidst cheering crowds. The highlight of the day arrives around mid-morning when participants gather for a cross-country event open to runners across various age groups including Juniors, Cadets, Detties, and more. This multi-lap course spans an impressive 3910 meters, offering diverse terrain that tests endurance and agility alike. A special adapted sports category also takes part in this race, ensuring inclusivity for all. The afternoon is dedicated to relay races where young athletes team up with adult runners for a unique challenge. The first of these events begins at 11:20 AM, featuring teams consisting of one Benjamin or Minime and an adult partner. Each team member runs separate legs before coming together on the final stretch along the beach promenade. As day progresses into early afternoon, more races continue to unfold with categories for boys and girls running solo in either a track event (900 meters) or a shorter 400-meter dash designed for younger participants. These events are interspersed with award ceremonies that recognize each group's top performers. For the more seasoned runners, an evening trail run awaits from 2:00 PM onwards. This 6-kilometer route features moderate elevation changes and is open to athletes aged Cadets (U18) and above. The day concludes around 4:30 PM with a final march event for all participants who wish to join in one last collective celebration. Throughout the day, spectators are treated not only to thrilling races but also an array of activities that enhance the festive atmosphere, making it a memorable experience for everyone involved.
