Touws 9km Circuit Hike & Row

Experience the unique blend of adventure and tranquility at the Touws Circuit Adventure, scheduled for October 24, 2026. This special day begins with an invigorating 9km circular hike through the Wilderness area’s lush forests, offering a scenic path that winds along the tranquil Touw River. With approximately 70 meters of elevation gain and lasting about two-and-a-half to three hours, this trail promises stunning views and perhaps even glimpses of dolphins or whales if you're lucky enough to spot them at Wilderness Beach.
After your hike, transition seamlessly into a peaceful canoe experience from around 11:00 AM until noon. Glide along the calm waters of the Touw River toward its mouth, enjoying the serene setting while safely storing your valuables in large splash-proof buckets provided with each canoe rental.
The day concludes at Fairy Knowe Hotel with a relaxed post-adventure lunch, giving you time to refuel and socialize after your outdoor escapade. The event includes all necessary equipment for both activities, guided experiences, and SANParks conservation fees, ensuring an effortless outing from start to finish.
Participants should come prepared with comfortable hiking shoes, water and snacks, sun protection like a hat and sunscreen, and light clothing layers suitable for the day’s varying conditions.
