Firefly Night Run by Gracehill College

Join Gracehill College for an unforgettable evening of community spirit and family fun at the Firefly Night Run on October 30, 2026, within the serene confines of George Botanical Gardens. This trail run offers something special for everyone with a variety of distances: a scenic 3km route perfect for kids and families starting at 17:45; a more challenging 5km course open to all ages beginning at 18:00; and an invigorating 10km trek for adults that kicks off at 17:30.
Participants will enjoy the lush trails of Botanical Gardens Lapa, illuminated by fireflies as they make their way through nature. Water stations are conveniently placed along both the 5km mark and the finish line to keep runners refreshed throughout the journey. Each participant receives a medal upon completion, with podium prizes awarded to top male and female finishers in each category.
The event is not just about running; it's an evening of celebration where families can relax on picnic blankets while enjoying burgers, wors rolls, curry, vetkoek, cold drinks, and snacks. Children will love the jumping castle and games area set up for them. Cash and card facilities are available to make your visit even more convenient.
Stay after the race concludes at 20:30 (estimated) to enjoy a community picnic in the beautiful botanical gardens and support Gracehill College's fundraising efforts towards acquiring an essential school bus. Don't miss this chance to come together with friends, family, and neighbors for a night of fun under the stars!
