Toughest Alive Hourglass - Central WA

Race The Hourglass is an exhilarating and inclusive endurance challenge that invites runners of all levels to push their limits on November 8, 2026, in Central Washington. This unique event features a dynamic format where participants complete loops with each round getting progressively shorter by one minute until the clock catches up.
The core concept revolves around completing laps—whether running or walking—at distances that adapt based on your stamina and strategy. The race offers several options: Run (a 2-mile loop), Hybrid (same distance plus burpees), Ruck (1 mile with a weighted backpack), Carry (half-mile with specified weight), and Walk (1-mile loops). Each round starts at 30 minutes for the first lap, reducing by one minute per subsequent attempt until you can no longer finish before the horn sounds.
The event is designed to foster community spirit. Participants gather at the start/finish line after each loop to catch their breath or strategize while enjoying music and encouragement from fellow competitors and spectators. The shared experience of facing a tightening time limit creates an atmosphere where new friendships often form, making it impossible not to cheer for others as they push through challenging rounds.
For those bringing young ones along, the event includes youth divisions with age-appropriate distances and weight requirements. This ensures that kids can participate in their own version of the challenge while parents join them on a more demanding course if desired.
Whether you're aiming to see how far you can go or simply enjoy the camaraderie among participants, Race The Hourglass offers an unforgettable experience. With no perfect pace required—only showing up and giving your best—the event celebrates perseverance and community in equal measure. Join us for this unique blend of competition and celebration on November 8th!
