Billed as Japan's fastest course, with less than 2 m of elevation difference, this JAAF-certified race is held on the Arakawa riverbank on a 10 km loop starting and finishing at Toda Bridge Athletics Stadium in Itabashi, Tokyo. Events are the full marathon, 30K, half marathon, 10K, 5K and 1 mile, with fees of 11,000 yen for the full, 7,700 yen for the half and 30K, 5,500 yen for 10K and 3,300 yen for the 5K and mile. Pacers cover 12 groups, from 2:30 to 4:20 at full marathon pace. Water, sports drink and salt tablets are available every 3 to 4 km, with food once every 10 km. Runners line up only five minutes before the start, leaving time to warm up. Time limits are 4:30 for the full and 2:15 for the half. There is no baggage storage, and results are issued as web certificates online. The race is a designated event of the R.LEAGUE ranking series, with a 10 percent entry discount from a runner's second start, and a partner race of TEAM ONE TOKYO, the Tokyo Marathon Foundation program that offers a chance at Tokyo Marathon entry. The start is at 9:30, with the mile at 9:35, and entries close a week before race day.
