The West Rock Winter Extravaganza invites endurance enthusiasts to experience an eight-hour loop race around scenic Lake Wintergreen. The course, featuring 1.6-mile laps, is known for its minimal elevation gain of just 65 feet but offers a challenging terrain nonetheless, making trekking poles advisable. Runners will enjoy the convenience of one centrally located aid station stocked with essential supplies such as water, electrolyte drinks, hot soup and grilled cheese sandwiches (or quesadillas), alongside an assortment of energy-boosting snacks like pizza, candy, chips, pretzels, and fresh fruit. The event promises a fun-filled atmosphere where participants can track their progress on the Big Board. This rain or snow event is limited to 50 runners, ensuring a cozy community feel while providing ample support throughout the race day.
