The Viking Run

The Viking Run, known for its challenging terrain and unpredictable December weather, invites runners to experience one of the most talked-about races of the year. This 6-mile course is notorious for its steep ascents, making every step feel like a climb uphill both ways. The race starts at Rosendale Community Center, where participants can enjoy indoor pre-race activities before heading out into possibly sunny or snowy conditions.
With a strict time limit of 90 minutes to complete the route, runners must navigate through hilly terrain efficiently. Race day registration and bib pickup begin at noon, with the start whistle blowing promptly at 1 pm. The race concludes by 2:30 pm, ensuring minimal disruption to local traffic and volunteers.
To commemorate this memorable event, the first 150 registrants receive a commemorative medal upon completion of their run. Additional medals are available on a first-come, first-served basis for later registrants. Given limited parking at the community center, carpooling is highly recommended to ensure easy access and a smooth start.
Join fellow runners in celebrating the end of the year with this invigorating challenge through Rosendale’s scenic winter landscape.
