Dive into the spooktacular world of The Horrowwood Halloween Run, where every step you take is infused with eerie charm and excitement. This inclusive event welcomes runners and walkers alike to enjoy a scenic course along the River Thames while celebrating all things spooky. For those who love dressing up, fancy dress costumes are encouraged but not required, offering an opportunity for creativity and fun. The best dressed will also have the chance to take home some special prizes, making your Halloween run even more memorable. The event is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing participants to choose their own distance based on a 7-hour time challenge format. Whether you're aiming for a quick 3km or pushing yourself beyond an ultra marathon, this race has something for everyone. The minimum distance is just 3 kilometers, and each lap measures approximately 4.37 miles (or 7 kilometers), though it can vary slightly depending on course conditions. The route itself winds through picturesque paths along the River Thames, making use of well-maintained trails that are easy to navigate thanks to clear signage throughout. The terrain is predominantly paved with a brief stretch of grassy sections suitable for any pair of running shoes year-round. Every finisher who completes at least 3 kilometers will receive an exclusive Halloween-themed medal as a token of achievement, while those tackling half-marathon distances or beyond can earn additional distance pins to commemorate their efforts. These include Half-Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50km and Ultra pins, each adding another layer of recognition. In addition to the medals and pins, all participants will be treated to a goody bag filled with treats suitable for everyone's dietary needs, including a special vegan option for those who prefer plant-based snacks. The aid stations at the start/finish area provide refreshments such as savory snacks, sweet delights, fruits, cheese, and vegan choices. The Last Hop pub serves as the venue’s base camp, offering toilet facilities where you can change if needed (though no dedicated changing rooms or showers are available). Parking is conveniently located in Bridge Street Car Park in Staines for easy access to the event site. Race day instructions will be emailed out a week before the run with all necessary details. On-site registration and number pick-up begin early at 8am, giving you ample time to prepare and enjoy pre-race activities. If this milestone event holds special significance—such as marking your 50th or 100th race—you can inform organizers ahead of time for a personalized touch with a custom running bib bearing your name and the date of the achievement. Join us at The Horrowwood Halloween Run to experience an unforgettable blend of fitness, fun, and festive spirit.
