The Saltmarsh Ultra

The Saltmarsh Ultra invites runners to explore the stunning Essex coastline over a challenging 50-mile course. Starting at South Woodham Rugby Club, this ultramarathon winds through picturesque salt marshes and along rugged cliffs before reaching its finish line on Maldon Promenade Park.
Participants have access to convenient shuttle services from the start location for those who need assistance getting there prior to race day. Detailed information about booking these shuttles is available during registration.
The route features clear markings with coastal path finger posts, complemented by downloadable GPX files and written instructions on the event website. Runners can rely on a well-supported course complete with aid stations and checkpoints throughout, ensuring that participants have access to essential supplies at regular intervals along their journey.
To minimize waste, this cupless event encourages runners to bring reusable containers for drinks provided at aid stations. Upon crossing the finish line after up to 15 hours of running, competitors will be rewarded with a custom H&T medal, a goody bag filled with race essentials, and an exclusive Saltmarsh Ultra t-shirt.
