🌿 Race 6 of 7 - September

Welcome to the Crown to Crown 2026 season - seven off-road 5Ks, one brilliant community vibe.

Hosted by Pitsea Running Club, this measured trail 5K series is perfect whether you're chasing a PB, building confidence, or just fancy a nice trail run.

Race 6 of 7 and the last of our evening races.


📅 2026 Race Dates

  • Friday 3rd April – 11:00am (Good Friday 🐣)

  • Wednesday 13th May – 7:30pm

  • Wednesday 10th June – 7:30pm

  • Wednesday 8th July – 7:30pm

  • Wednesday 12th August – 7:30pm

  • Wednesday 9th September – 7:00pm

  • Saturday 26th December – 11:00am (Boxing Day 🎄)

Race 6 kicks off on Wednesday 9th September at 7:00pm sharp. Don’t be that runner jogging to the start line…


📍 Location

Start & Finish: Westley Heights Country Park
(At the rear of the Miller & Carter – Crown Public House)

Important parking note:
Parking is limited - allow extra time and be prepared for a short 10-minute walk if needed.

And yes… the toilets have reopened. Hurrah indeed. 🙌


💷 Entry Fees

All fees now include online processing costs.

  • £2.50 – 18+ England Athletics affiliated (attached)

  • £4.50 – 18+ unaffiliated (unattached)

  • £1.50 – Ages 12–17

👉 You only need to be a member of an England Athletics affiliated club to receive the discount - you do not need personal EA registration.

💡 On-the-day entries are available at the same price, but entering online will save you queuing time.

This event is to be licenced by the TRA and will follow UK Athletics rules.


🏁 The Route

A fully measured 5K, mainly on bridleways.

The race starts on Beeleigh Avenue, heads onto Lee Chapel Lane, loops through Essex Wildlife Trust’s Willow Park, before returning to finish at Westley Heights Car Park.

Expect:

  • Trail and bridleway terrain

  • Some tarmac sections

  • Proper countryside running vibes

⚠️ Spikes are not suitable due to tarmac sections.


🚨 Race Rules & Safety

Held under UK Athletics rules (TRA Permit No. 8094 - available on the day).

  • No under 12s (EA distance rules apply)

  • No canicross / dogs

  • No pushchairs

  • No headphones unless bone conductive

  • One mass start for all age groups

  • Gun-to-finish timing (not chip timed)

  • Results available the following day on our website

We’ll have:
✔️ Course marshals
✔️ A tail runner (no one gets left behind!)
✔️ First aid on course and at finish
✔️ Defib at the finish
✔️ Water at the finish
✔️ Sweets at registration (priorities sorted)

Please listen to marshals and volunteers - they’re there to keep you safe and on course.


🌧️ Cancellation Policy

If we need to cancel due to weather, course conditions, government or landowner advice, you’ll be offered:

  • A transfer to a later 2026 race
    or

  • A refund (minus unavoidable card processing fees)
