The Rough Rider, set to debut in 2026, promises an exhilarating blend of rugged adventure and rich history amidst Arizona's high desert landscapes. Nestled within the historic confines of Prescott, this gravel stage race offers more than just a challenge; it delivers an immersive experience steeped in frontier lore and modern-day grit. Spanning three days from October 30 to November 1, the event kicks off with registration opening on October 22 at 9am mountain time. With space limited to only 300 riders, this race is a coveted opportunity for cyclists eager to explore some of Arizona's most stunning backcountry trails. Participants will traverse through Prescott National Forest and beyond, encountering challenging terrain that tests both endurance and skill. Each day brings new routes, scenic vistas, and the chance to soak in the legendary atmosphere that has made Prescott a hub of adventure and history. The race offers two distance options: The Cavalry for those seeking the full epic journey, and The Scout for riders looking to tackle less mileage while still embracing the same spirit of resilience. Both courses are professionally mapped, marked with clear signage, and supported throughout by dedicated course ambassadors and medical teams ensuring rider safety. Each evening concludes in historic downtown Prescott where social gatherings allow participants to unwind and celebrate daily achievements at award ceremonies. These events highlight individual prowess through stage awards across various age and gender categories including Young Guns (ages 16-49), Women's Regiment, Men’s Regiment, Non-Binary, and the Old Guard (age 50+). In addition to thrilling competition, riders will receive a Rough Rider T-shirt, exclusive souvenirs, swag from sponsors, chip timing for precise results, and bragging rights that endure long after the dust settles. While there are no refunds available under any circumstances due to TransRockies US LP's cancellation policy, transfers of entry may be considered at their discretion. The Rough Rider isn't just a race; it’s an invitation into Arizona’s storied past through its present-day adventures. Join us in Prescott and become part of the legacy that awaits.
