The Loch Morlich Running Festival 2027

Kick off 2027 with the Fitnessat58° Loch Morlich Running Festival, returning for its ninth year on January 3rd, 2027. Nestled within Glenmore Forest's serene landscape and culminating at the picturesque shores of Loch Morlich beach, this event offers runners an invigorating start to the new year.
Participants can choose between a scenic 5.6KM route or double that distance with the 11.2KM trail run. Both courses weave through lush pine forests and along tranquil lakeshore paths, providing stunning natural beauty at every turn. Trail shoes are recommended for optimal traction on varied terrain.
The day begins early with registration opening at 10:00 AM. At 11:45 AM, Fitnessat58° instructor Sam Cairns will lead a group warm-up session to prepare participants for the challenging yet rewarding course ahead. The race starts promptly at noon, and runners are encouraged by volunteers throughout their journey.
Upon crossing the finish line, athletes receive a bespoke medal celebrating their achievement and can enjoy some delicious home-baked treats while catching up on results provided instantly via chip timing from Perfect Timing Scotland. Prizes await the top three male and female competitors in each race category.
This event welcomes runners of all ages and abilities along with their four-legged companions (dogs must be kept on leashes). The inclusive atmosphere ensures everyone feels supported, whether they are walking, jogging, or racing for personal bests.
Entry fees cover both distances: £30 for the 5.6KM race and £35 for those tackling the longer route. Under-16 participants enjoy a reduced rate of £7.50 regardless of which distance they choose to run.
