The Chanctonbury Chase

The Chanctonbury Chase, making its debut in 2027 as part of The South Coast Series, invites runners to explore the stunning Wiston Estate nestled within the heart of the South Downs National Park. This unique trail race offers an unparalleled blend of challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery across four distances: 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon, and a grueling yet rewarding 100K.
Each lap around the picturesque 10K loop presents runners with a mix of rolling hills, woodland paths, and estate roads. The course is meticulously marked to ensure clear navigation through varying elevations that test endurance while offering stunning views at every turn. As you progress along the route, the atmosphere intensifies as fellow competitors pass by multiple times throughout the day.
The event village serves as a central hub of support, complete with regular aid stations stocked with water, energy drinks, gels, fruit, and sweet snacks to keep runners fueled for their journey ahead. Medical assistance is readily available should any issues arise during your run. Additionally, food vendors and coffee stalls provide sustenance both before the race begins and after you cross the finish line.
For those looking to push beyond traditional road races, The Chanctonbury Chase offers a perfect setting to tackle longer distances in scenic surroundings. Whether it's conquering your first trail event or striving for a personal best over any distance offered here, this race caters to all levels of experience and ambition.
