The Bridge Team: Trail Kids to LNR

Brought to you by Trail Kids and LNR (Loppet Nordic Racing). This 10-Week Classic + Skate Ski Program is intended for participants ages 11-14 who are looking for an introduction to endurance ski training and a level up from the current Trail Kids program and curriculum.

This program meets twice a week for ten weeks, focusing on both classic and skate ski technique (classic and skate equipment needed to participate in these sessions). The Bridge Team focuses on classic and skate ski instruction alongside an introduction to dryland training, agility, hill intervals, time trials, and workout types.

• Dates: January 4th - March 10th (no practice MLK Day or Presidents)
• Days/Time: Mondays/Wednesdays 6PM – 7:30PM
• Where: The Trailhead (meet at team flags east of the Trailhead)
• Type of instruction: Skate and Classic technique
• Equipment needed: Classic boots, skis (skin skis or kick wax skis), and poles (armpit to top of shoulder height) AND Skate boots, skis, and poles (chin to nose height). Combi boots can be used. Clothes and shoes for outdoor dryland and lifting.

Ski Ability Level Registration Guide: Please refer to the Nordic Ski Ability Level Registration Guide when registering your skier. Skiers should be at the Blue/Intermediate level or higher.

Financial Assistance: To apply please fill out the Loppet Financial Assistance Application We will follow up with you with instructions on how to register at a price that is manageable for your family. Applications for programs that start two weeks or less from the date of submission will not be approved.

Sibling Discount: For those families who have three or more kids in the program we will given a 15% discount code. Please email trailkids@loppet.org for more information.

Friend Requests: For safety and equity reasons, Trail Kids does not offer friend requests as part of registration.  

Racing Opportunities: During the program there will be practices where a Time Trial is held to provide an opportunity to become more familiar with racing. For more information on local race opportunities and series take a look at SkinnySki or join up with your school’s team!

Refund Policy: The Loppet will issue a full refund of the program fee minus the original processing fee up until 6 weeks (42 days) before the program starts. Between 6 and 4 weeks (42 and 28 days) from the program start date, a 50% refund will be issued. Between 4 and 3 weeks (28 and 21 days) from the program start date, a 25% refund will be issued. There are no refunds for any cancellations within less than 3 weeks (21 days) of the start of a program. During the program, if your child has a medical issue that makes it impossible to participate, we will issue a prorated refund minus the processing fee. If the Loppet cancels a program, a full refund will be issued.
