The Born To Run Virtual Challenge

About the Event

Join The Born To Run Virtual Challenge and help raise vital funds for the conservation of cheetahs through The Big Cat Sanctuary's ambitious Cheetah Conservation Centre project. This virtual race offers participants the flexibility to run or walk their chosen distance—10k, 50k, or 100k—from anywhere between January 1st and January 31st, 2027.
The Big Cat Sanctuary in Smarden, Kent is dedicated to rescuing and conserving wild cats globally. The sanctuary aims to establish a new Cheetah Conservation Centre that will serve as a critical genetic insurance policy for cheetahs facing severe threats such as habitat loss and human-wildlife conflict. This centre will focus on breeding genetically strong populations of cheetahs, contributing significantly to coordinated conservation efforts across Europe.
Participants can run their chosen distance at their own pace over the month-long period, with no restrictions on how many runs it takes to complete the challenge. Once you've finished your race, submit your results by January 31st and earn a unique medal inspired by cheetahs as well as a free running t-shirt.
By participating in this event, runners not only enjoy personal flexibility but also contribute directly towards saving one of Africa’s most endangered species. Join thousands of dedicated individuals who are making a difference for the future of these magnificent cats.
