The Big Welsh Swim

About the Event

Immerse yourself in one of Wales' most breathtaking settings at Llyn Padarn, nestled within the Snowdonia National Park. This unique swim offers participants an unforgettable journey by narrow gauge train to the lake's end before diving into its crystal-clear waters. Choose from six different distances ranging from a short 500m sprint to a challenging 12km marathon across three lengths of the picturesque lake.
Swimmers will be treated to panoramic views of Dolbadarn Castle, historic slate quarries towering above the valley, and lush woodland surrounding Llyn Padarn. The event provides both wetsuit and non-wetsuit options, ensuring comfort for all participants as they navigate the calm waters under the shadow of Snowdonia's majestic peaks.
Safety is a top priority with two feed stations at each end of the lake to provide support throughout your swim. Cut-off times vary depending on distance but are designed to ensure participant safety and enjoyment without undue pressure. The race organizers reserve the right to retire any swimmer who appears unable to complete their chosen distance due to fatigue or physical condition.
Join us for an experience that combines stunning natural beauty with a challenging aquatic adventure, perfect for swimmers of all levels looking to push themselves in one of Britain's most scenic locations.
