THE BIG LIME TRIATHLONS - HARTLEPOOL MARINA

The Big Lime Triathlons return to the picturesque setting of Hartlepool Marina on Sunday, August 8, 2027. This versatile triathlon offers something for every level of athlete, from beginners taking their first steps into multisport events to seasoned competitors looking for a challenging day out.
Participants can choose between two main distances: Sprint and Standard Triathlons, along with Aquabike options that eliminate the run or cycle leg entirely. The event also features relay teams who can split up the disciplines among team members.
The triathlon kicks off with an invigorating swim in Hartlepool Marina itself, offering clear waters for a refreshing start to your day. For those opting out of cycling and running sections, there's an Open Water Swimming event that stands alone as its own challenge.
After leaving the water, athletes transition into their bikes and head towards Seaton Carew and Teesside on a fast and flat cycle route. The bike course is designed for speed with minimal elevation changes, making it perfect for testing your cycling skills against the clock.
The final leg of the race sees participants running along Hartlepool's scenic seafront promenade. This picturesque run offers stunning views of the marina and coastline as you push towards the finish line.
For those who prefer a more relaxed approach to triathlon racing, relay teams can share the load among team members by dividing up the swim, bike, or run legs however they see fit. The event's transition area is secure and well-organized, with numbered racking spots for each competitor’s equipment.
Post-race amenities include live chip timing provided by Timing Up North to ensure accurate results, as well as a finish line celebration featuring medals, snacks, drinks, and merchandise from Wild Deer.
With its prime location in Hartlepool Marina, participants can enjoy the beauty of Teesside's coastline while taking on one of the region’s premier multisport events.
Join us for an unforgettable day at Hartlepool Marina this August 8th, where you'll experience a blend of water sports and land-based challenges that cater to both newcomers and seasoned athletes alike.
