TRA permit number 7711 (TBC)
Non-TRA members and UKA members pay a £2 levi.
Over 18's only.
Any children coming to spectate must be supervised by an appropriate adult at all times.
This is a timed, self supported anti-clockwise loop around the island that starts and finishes at Waterside Farm Leisure Centre. Generously supported by Castle Point council.
This is a relaxed run with a "check pint" at the pub stop 10k in! Check in with one of our timers, grab a drink (on us) and refill your water bottles too. Good place for supporters to head too to cheer you on! This is more of an adventure than a race, so don't rush out the door. There is a 4 hour cut off.
The vast majority of the course is along the sea wall, mixing in single track grass paths and then wider concrete and gravel trails around the island on the King Charles 3rd England Coast Path. (You have the option in one section, should the weather and tides allow, to run the lower promenade and see the local art work on display. There is no penalty or using either the upper or lower section.)
Registration: 11:10 hours you can collect your race numbers, pins and a bottle of water. Please download the gpx file, follow the route on Strava and/or print off the race narrative from our website or the email you will receive in the days before the event. Feel free to use a the many lockers available (we don't take responsibilty for lost/stolen items etc.)
Run starts at 12:00 hours. Please be aware that you MUST use the traffic lights and crossing points in the first and last km or face being DQ's (which is only just better than being killed by cars on the busy roads in this area! Take care and use the traffic islands on the Benfleet road crossing.)
The exact finish location inside the leisure centre is TBC, but please make sure you register your arrival back with us that you made it to the finish in one piece. There will be a relay team of tail walkers/joggers sweeping the course.
Post any photos from the event on our Facebook and instagram pages.
