The 1066 Triathlon

First Stride Events invites triathlon enthusiasts to experience the historic charm of the 1066 coastline, following in the footsteps of William the Conqueror through this iconic region. The race begins with an invigorating swim along Bexhill's shores before transitioning at the picturesque De La Warr Pavilion.
Three distance options are available: sprint, standard, and middle distances, catering to various levels of experience and fitness. Swimmers will complete a loop in the sea adjacent to transition that measures 750m for sprints, 1.5km for standards, or 1.9km for middles, with waves starting based on race distance.
The bike leg offers a scenic tour through Sussex's countryside, featuring fast and flat roads punctuated by gentle inclines. This section provides an excellent opportunity to set a strong pace without overly challenging terrain.
Runners will enjoy a 5km loop along the promenade, known for its wide crowds of enthusiastic supporters cheering on participants throughout their journey back towards the finish line at the De La Warr Pavilion. Two aid stations are strategically placed on this route, ensuring athletes can stay hydrated and fueled as they complete each lap.
All competitors receive a finishers medal to commemorate their achievement in addition to prizes awarded to top three male and female finishers across all distances following the event. The friendly atmosphere throughout the race ensures that participants not only enjoy the challenge but also appreciate the rich history surrounding them every step of the way.
