Join us for an unforgettable evening at Kohler-Andrae State Park on August 21, 2027, as we host the third annual "Just Beachy" race. This scenic 9-mile course starts at 6:30 PM and offers runners a unique blend of coastal beauty and serene woodland trails.
The event kicks off from an indoor shelter area before taking you down to the playground on a concrete path. You’ll then venture onto wide, flat trails that wind through campground areas until reaching the shoreline by mile one point five. As you step onto the sandy shores of Lake Michigan, stay close to the water for easier footing and breathtaking views.
The course continues along Beach Park Lane with careful guidance away from road traffic into the Black River trail system. Here, runners will traverse marshes, pines, and prairies on wide, easy-going trails before looping back towards the beach via a wooden cordwalk—a beautiful yet challenging section that requires cautious footing due to uneven boards.
After exiting this scenic path, you’ll return to the shoreline for about three-quarters of a mile. Blue cones will guide your exit off the sand and back onto the Woodland Dunes trail for the final stretch leading you to the finish line where cheering friends await.
Post-race festivities include snacks and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere under the stars. Remember, daily or annual Wisconsin State Park passes are required; pre-purchase at yourpassnow.com or pay upon arrival if needed.
