About the Event

The Thames Meander offers runners an enchanting journey along the picturesque Thames Path. Starting at Small Profit Dock Gardens near Barnes Sports Club’s Race HQ on Lonsdale Road, participants will embark on scenic routes that follow the riverbank to Kew Gardens and beyond.
For the 10km race, athletes experience a single out-and-back loop from Small Profit Dock Gardens through Kew Gardens Car Park before returning. The half marathon extends this route with an additional leg along the Thames Path to Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts, where runners turn around for their return journey. Marathon participants enjoy twice the distance of the half marathon, making it a challenging yet rewarding experience.
Throughout the race, well-marked trails and professional marshals ensure smooth navigation. Checkpoints are strategically placed at key locations—Small Profit Dock Gardens (CP1), Kew Gardens Car Park (CP2), and Petersham & Ham Sea Scouts (CP3)—where runners can find medical support from KLP Medical Supplies.
Rated as one of the top 10 trail marathons in the U.K., the Thames Meander promises a flat, fast course with stunning views along the river. This event is not to be missed for anyone seeking a picturesque and enjoyable running experience on August 8, 2027.
