TAY - Templeton Woods, Dundee
About the event
Embark on an adventure through Templeton Woods, Dundee, with Tayside Orientreering Club's unique orienteering challenge. This newly mapped woodland area offers a diverse terrain ranging from mature deciduous trees to denser coniferous slopes higher up. The landscape includes several semi-clearings and patches of low bracken that are easily navigable.
The course features an intricate network of paths, some part of the Templeton Tangle mountain bike trail system where orienteers must yield to cyclists encountered along the way. While there are a couple of deep but dry ditches scattered throughout, overall the terrain remains manageable with no marsh or standing water except for the reservoir and fishing pond.
Three courses—Yellow, Orange, and Light Green—are designed for all skill levels, making this event ideal even for newcomers. Registration opens at 12:00 PM, allowing ample time to start your adventure between then and 1:15 PM, with a goal of wrapping up by 2:30 PM.
Explore the beauty and challenge of Templeton Woods on November 21, 2026—a day filled with scenic views and strategic navigation.
