Tame the Tower Trail Challenge

The Tame the Tower Trail Challenge returns to Lebanon, Pennsylvania on December 12th, offering runners two challenging distances through Clarence Schock Memorial Park's scenic trails. This event celebrates the artistic heritage of Mt. Gretna and its surrounding hiking paths, which wind through a landscape marked by natural beauty and historical significance. Participants will encounter well-marked courses distinguished by colorful ground flags guiding them along both 5-mile and 10-mile routes.
Race day in December brings crisp morning air to Clarence Schock Memorial Park, with temperatures typically ranging from freezing to just above the mid-30s Fahrenheit by noon. The trail conditions are firm yet slightly soft underfoot, providing a stable surface that challenges runners as they ascend and descend through the park’s hilly terrain. With an elevation gain of approximately 1500 feet for the longer route and around 850 feet for those opting for the shorter distance, this race demands strength and endurance from all competitors.
In its third year, Tame the Tower Trail Challenge has become a cornerstone event in Mt. Gretna’s community calendar, drawing local residents and trail runners alike who appreciate both the physical challenge of conquering the park's trails and the supportive atmosphere that surrounds each participant.
