Table Rock Trail Challenge

Embark on an exhilarating journey through Clark Reservation State Park for the 11th annual Table Rock Trail Challenge. Organized by Salt City Trail Racing and sponsored by New York's Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation - Central Region, this unique Last One Standing event offers runners a challenging yet rewarding experience. The race unfolds on two looped courses: Course A (approximately 1.3 miles) with its crushed gravel paths, slippery table rock formations, rocky trails, and scrambles; and Course B (around 1.2 miles), which cuts through less treacherous terrain.
Runners commence together for the first ten laps, facing descending lap cutoff times that intensify as the race progresses. The park's geological wonders, including fossil-rich limestone outcrops, provide a stunning backdrop to this grueling yet communal event. As temperatures soar and humidity rises, participants navigate alternating runnable sections with stretches of technical terrain, all while battling fatigue and fellow competitors.
The atmosphere is electric as runners vie for supremacy in the sweltering summer heat, cheered on by spectators who gather around noon when ice cream becomes available. The race's unique format ensures that only one runner remains standing at its conclusion, earning Last One Standing awards in each gender division.
Table Rock Trail Challenge stands out not just for its scenic beauty and challenging course but also for the camaraderie it fosters among runners of varying abilities. This event is a USATF-sanctioned race, offering both tradition and excitement as participants push their limits on this historic trail circuit.
