Sur la trace des cagouilles

On the first Sunday of November 2026, Nouaillé-Maupertuis, France will host Sur la trace des cagouilles, an annual celebration that brings runners and walkers together for a day filled with scenic routes and friendly competition. The event offers two main course options: an 8.5-kilometer trek and a more challenging 17-kilometer route.
Participants can expect to traverse through the picturesque countryside of Nouaillé-Maupertuis, winding their way past charming villages, lush forests, and open fields. Both courses are designed to showcase the beauty and tranquility of this rural setting while providing runners with varying levels of difficulty to suit both casual walkers and more seasoned athletes.
In addition to the main races, Sur la trace des cagouilles also features a timed march event for those who prefer a leisurely pace over competitive speed. This option is perfect for families looking to enjoy the day together without the pressure of racing against others.
The atmosphere at this event is warm and inviting, with plenty of opportunities for socializing before and after the race. Local vendors will be on hand selling snacks and refreshments, ensuring that participants can fuel up between activities or simply relax under the autumn sun.
For younger runners, there are special children's races designed to introduce kids to the joy of running in a fun and supportive environment. These shorter courses allow young athletes to experience the thrill of crossing the finish line with their peers while enjoying age-appropriate challenges that promote physical activity and teamwork.
Sur la trace des cagouilles is more than just a race; it's an opportunity for visitors to explore one of France’s most charming regions, immersing themselves in its unique culture and traditions.
