Starburster (5 or 10 miles)

Immerse yourself in the enchanting twilight of Hurn Forest for our Starburster events, kicking off at 5pm on Saturdays. Participants can choose between two routes: a scenic 5-mile journey or an extended 10-mile adventure through this captivating woodland setting.
The route starts and finishes at Hospital Services Cricket Club and follows a well-maintained hardstanding trail that winds its way through the forest's lush landscape, offering runners stunning views of twilight hues as they progress. Head torches are essential for navigating the dimly lit paths, while additional lighting is encouraged to enhance your visibility in this unique setting.
Trail shoes are recommended but not strictly necessary given the condition and type of terrain. The event aims to support Forestry England by donating 20% of entry fees towards maintaining these beautiful trails and forests.
Upon arrival at Hospital Services Cricket Club, runners will find a well-stocked aid station with both savoury and sweet snacks for refueling. Please bring your own reusable cups as we do not provide plastic ones. Toilets are available inside the cricket club along with designated areas to leave personal belongings.
The event is open to runners aged 16 or older for the shorter route, while participants must be at least 17 years old for the longer distance option. Registration opens from 4:15pm and number pick-up will take place before you start your run. Detailed instructions will be emailed out in advance.
With a cutoff time of 8pm (3 hours), this event is licensed by the TRA and adheres to UKA rules, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
