STAG’s 5th Nox & 37th Tinto Twin.

The 37th Tinto Twin Race, part of the celebrated Nox et Dies Weekend, invites runners to explore the lush landscapes around Wishaw. This year’s edition takes place on November 14, 2026, at the Newmains Community & Conference Centre in ML2 9AX.
The centerpiece of this event is Greenhead Moss Community Nature Park, a sprawling 100-hectare expanse that showcases an array of natural habitats. From serene ponds and vibrant wildflower meadows to ancient peat bogs and diverse woodlands, the park offers runners a rich tapestry of scenery and terrain. Wildlife enthusiasts will spot mammals like badgers, roe deer, and foxes alongside numerous bird species and insects.
The well-maintained path network throughout Greenhead Moss ensures accessibility for all participants, with many paths paved to accommodate wheelchairs and pushchairs. The park’s conservation efforts are evident in the dedicated work of volunteers who collaborate weekly with NLC Countryside Rangers to preserve this biodiverse haven.
Adding a historical touch, remnants of old mining activity dot the landscape alongside memorials honoring miners, providing a poignant backdrop for runners as they traverse through nature’s beauty and human history. The centerpiece of conservation efforts is Perchy Pond, designated as a Local Nature Reserve in 1989 to safeguard it from development, with additional protections extended across Greenhead Moss Park in 2013.
The Tinto Twin Race offers unique challenges over two days, requiring participants to enter the same course on both Nox (night) and Dies (day) events for eligibility towards trophies. While a White Course is available exclusively during the day event, there are no string or similar navigation aids provided throughout the weekend.
This year’s race benefits from the support of local leaders like Provost Kenny Duffy and Paul Hogg, alongside dedicated volunteers and NLC Countryside Rangers who work tirelessly to maintain this special environment for all visitors.
