STAG’s 5th Dies 37th Tinto Twin SoSOL8.

The 37th Tinto Twin race, part of the fifth annual Nox et Dies weekend, promises an unforgettable experience at Greenhead Moss Community Nature Park. Set against the backdrop of Newmains Community & Conference Centre in Wishaw, this event offers runners a unique blend of natural beauty and historical significance.
Greenhead Moss spans 100 hectares, featuring diverse habitats such as ponds, wildflower meadows, raised peat bog remnants, and both old and new woodlands. The park is home to numerous species, including badgers, roe deer, foxes, insects, and birds, many of which are protected under the NLC Biodiversity Action Plan. A well-maintained path network throughout the site ensures accessibility for all participants.
The race weekend celebrates both day and night runs, with competitors eligible for Tinto Twin Trophies if they complete the same course on both days. While a White Course is offered exclusively during the Day event, no String or similar options will be available over the weekend.
Runners can expect to encounter remnants of old mining activity and memorials dedicated to miners throughout their journey. The park's Perchy Pond was designated as a Local Nature Reserve in 1989 by Motherwell District Council, ensuring its protection from future development. In 2013, the entire Greenhead Moss Park received LNR status.
The event is organized with support from key figures such as Provost Kenny Duffy and Paul Hogg, Senior NLC Countryside Ranger Martin Reilly, Hospitality Manager at Newmains CC Centre, and Police Scotland, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
