SRT - Shawangunk Ridge Trail Run

Immerse yourself in the stunning beauty of New York's Shawangunk Mountains as you embark on the Shawangunk Ridge Trail Run, scheduled for September 11, 2027. This trail spans an awe-inspiring 70 miles from High Point State Park to Rosendale, winding through a diverse landscape that includes rolling hills, rare dwarf pine barrens, and dramatic white conglomerate cliffs towering over the Hudson Valley.
The event offers three distinct divisions: a half marathon, a 30-mile trek, and the full 70-mile adventure. Each route showcases the unique ecosystems of the Shawangunk Mountains, or "Gunks," with breathtaking views that stretch for miles on clear days. The trail is well-marked but requires runners to be self-sufficient; participants must carry their own food and water purification equipment.
The race begins at various points across two states: the 70-mile division starts in New Jersey under starlit skies, while shorter distances begin near Sam's Point Preserve and Minnewaska State Park. All routes converge on a challenging yet rewarding course that highlights the region’s natural beauty and conservation efforts.
Participants will be treated to distinctive tech t-shirts upon registration, unique finishers medals for all divisions, and special badges for barefoot runners. Ceremonial tomahawks are awarded to top male, female, and non-binary competitors in each division, adding a touch of tradition to the event's vibrant atmosphere.
