This unique mini-adventure takes place on the picturesque countryside surrounding Mellor during a sunny Sunday late in summer.
Participants can choose from three course durations: 60 minutes, 120 minutes, or 180 minutes, offering flexibility for all ages and abilities. The event is designed to be inclusive, welcoming both newcomers and seasoned adventurers alike. Whether you're running solo or joining friends and family, there's plenty of support available on the day.
Registration opens at 1pm with start times ranging from then until 3pm. Each participant receives a colorful map and uses their smartphone, Garmin, or Apple Watch to navigate through over 60 SpunchPoints scattered throughout the course. The goal is simple yet exciting: visit as many checkpoints as possible within your chosen time frame.
The event takes place near Mellor Sports Club in Stockport, with ample parking and easy access for those traveling by car from nearby towns such as Wilmslow, Bramhall, Cheadle, or even further afield like Macclesfield. Public transport is also an option; Marple station is about 2 kilometers away.
The course itself winds through the lush countryside north of Mellor Sports Club, offering panoramic views and picturesque scenery along Ludworth Moor, Mill Brow, and near Mellor Church. The terrain varies from tarmac roads to rugged trails, providing a mix of challenges for all levels of fitness and experience.
Upon completion, participants can enjoy refreshments at Mellor Sports Club, which boasts both indoor and outdoor areas perfect for unwinding with friends or family after the race. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a lead and under control throughout the event.
