SPRING - Clock Change Challenge

About the Event

Spring into action at the Spring Clock Change Challenge, an eagerly anticipated race that has been delighting runners since its inception over 16 years ago. Scheduled for Sunday, March 28, 2027, this event offers a trio of races to suit all levels: a competitive 10km road race, a family-friendly 5km run, and a fun-filled 1.5km dash.
The main attraction is the flat and fast 10km course that winds through quiet country lanes, perfect for achieving personal bests or chasing down those elusive records. The current men's course record stands at an impressive 30:27 by Patrick Martin of Stockport Harriers from October 2014, while Lucy Morrison holds the women’s record with a time of 36:42 set in March 2025.
For younger runners and families looking to enjoy a more leisurely pace, the 5km race offers an equally scenic out-and-back route along quiet lanes. This event is open to participants aged 11 years or older and features top-three overall awards for both male and female competitors.
The fun run provides a shorter but no less enjoyable experience with its easy-to-navigate loop around traffic-free sports fields, suitable for runners under the age of 16. All finishers in this category receive a commemorative medal to mark their achievement.
Race day registration opens at 9:00 AM for pre-entries and continues until 10:45 AM for on-the-day entries, ensuring ample time for participants to collect numbers and gear up before the start times of 10:00 AM (for both the 5km and fun run) and 11:00 AM for the 10km race.
Competitors will appreciate the well-organized event facilities that include free parking, changing rooms with showers and toilets, lockers, hot food options, and refreshment stands. All participants in the 10km and 5km races receive a custom-designed medal to celebrate their accomplishment, while finishers of the fun run are awarded a finisher's medal.
Race timing is provided by LPS Events using electronic chips for accurate results tracking. Awards ceremonies will take place at 11:15 AM for both the 5km and fun runs, followed by presentations for the 10km race at noon.
With category prizes up for grabs in all three races and plenty of family activities to enjoy alongside the running action, the Spring Clock Change Challenge promises a memorable day out for runners and spectators alike.

Scenic view of

Wiltshire is a large, mostly rural county in the eastern part of the West Country of southern England. Wiltshire features large areas of rolling chalk downland and grazing farmland, including Salisbury Plain, a large expanse of downland of which part is famously used as a training area by the British Army. For the visitor to the area, Wiltshire is probably most significant because it contains several important Neolithic period monuments, including the world famous stone circles at Stonehenge and Avebury, and the former settlement of Old Sarum. The county also offers a selection of fascinating towns and villages, as well as embracing the southern parts of the picturesque Cotswolds region.
