On February 20, 2027, Pro Bike + Run in Pittsburgh's Strip District hosts ASpin-A-Thon, an energetic indoor cycling challenge that supports Urban Impact Athletic Academy. Teams of up to eight riders pedal their way through a morning filled with competition and camaraderie, aiming for the $600 fundraising minimum per team. The event kicks off at 7:15 AM with check-in and continues until noon when the closing ceremony wraps things up.
The day's activities begin early as teams gather materials and prepare to ride in heated sessions from 8:00 AM onwards. DJ-driven music sets a lively tone, pushing participants through each of the sixteen fifteen-minute heats. As riders push their limits on Spin or Airdyne bikes, they contribute towards this year’s $40,000 fundraising goal, ensuring that 400 students have access to safe play areas.
Awards are given out for top individual and team fundraisers as well as first-place teams in various divisions. The event not only fosters a sense of community but also raises vital funds to support youth athletic programs. Participants can park at the nearby garage, surface lot, or limited street spaces. Early registration is encouraged to secure swag items, with guarantees available for those who sign up by February 3rd.
