Spångaloppet 2027

On May 22, 2027, the annual Spångaloppet returns to celebrate movement and community spirit. This popular event offers several distance options for runners of all ages: a challenging 10 km race, an accessible 5 km route, a junior run specifically designed for children aged 8-14 years over 2 kilometers, and a fun knattleikr-style dash for the youngest participants up to age 7 on a 400-meter track.
All races begin and end at Spånga IP, providing a central hub where families can gather before setting off together or cheering from the sidelines. The course itself is mostly flat, featuring paved walking paths and cycling lanes that wind through scenic areas of Stockholm County, with some sections on gentle inclines.
The day kicks off around 10:30 AM for the youngest racers in the knattleikr-style event, followed by a warm-up session at approximately 11:00 AM for all other participants. Race starts are staggered to ensure smooth flow and safety across different age groups:
- The 400-meter dash begins around 10:30 AM.
- Warm-ups commence at roughly 11:00 AM, with a combined session for the 2 km junior race, 5 km run, and 10 km event.
- Participants in the 10 km race will start promptly at 11:10 AM.
- The 2-kilometer junior race follows shortly after at around 11:15 AM.
- Finally, runners tackling the 5 km distance along with those participating in a wheelchair category begin their run at approximately 11:20 AM.
Spångaloppet is more than just a competition; it's an inclusive celebration of health and community. Organized by Spånga Motion—a part of the Spånga-Bromsten Bandyklubb—the event aims to promote physical activity, social cohesion, and integration among residents in the region. Any surplus funds generated from race registrations are donated back to local clubs.
This year's edition promises a day filled with camaraderie, friendly competition, and scenic runs through some of Stockholm County’s most picturesque areas. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this vibrant community event!
