The event takes place on a sunny Saturday morning at Penrose St Playground in Lane Cove West. Participants can choose from various routes that cater to beginners and experienced runners alike: the Warm Up course, designed specifically for newcomers; Short Line and Long Line courses for those looking to challenge themselves further; and Score, an exciting option where points are awarded based on your performance.
No matter which path you pick, each route promises a delightful mix of urban bushland and park trails. The event is perfect for solo adventurers who want to test their navigation skills or families seeking a relaxed weekend outing together. Friendly guides will be available throughout the day to help newcomers get started with clear maps and beginner-friendly courses.
The meeting point at Penrose St Playground provides an easy starting location, where you can collect your map and begin exploring one of several routes offered during the event window from 9:30am to 11am. SPORTident timing will be used for all participants, ensuring accurate results whether this is your first orienteering experience or a regular part of your weekend routine.
Entry fees are affordable, with discounts available for members and school students using promo code "ONSW" at checkout. A late fee applies if you register after midday on Thursday before the event date. SPORTident card rentals are also available for those who don't already own one.
