Explore Sydney’s Beauchamp Park this Saturday with Garingal Orienteers for an engaging day filled with short-format orienteering courses. Whether you’re an experienced navigator or just curious about trying out the sport, there are plenty of options to suit all levels and ages.
The event offers a variety of routes through the park's lush gardens and urban bushland, including beginner-friendly maps and guidance from friendly club members who can help you choose your course on arrival. Courses range from a warm-up option designed for newcomers to more challenging lines like Short Line and Long Line. There’s also a Score course that lets participants collect points at control flags scattered throughout the park.
Participants are encouraged to explore solo, team up with friends, or enjoy a relaxed family outing as they navigate through hidden corners of nature in Sydney's urban landscape. The event includes playful time bonuses for those who visit incorrect flags, adding an element of fun and adventure without compromising on enjoyment.
Meet at Beauchamp Park’s Nicholson Street entrance from 9:30am to 11am, where you can pick up your maps and start whenever suits you best within the window. Remember that SPORTident timing is used for all courses; if you don’t have a card, one can be hired on site.
Entry fees are $18 for adults with a 15% discount for members using promo code "ONSW", while school students pay $15 also eligible for the same discount (a late fee applies after midday Thursday). All prices include GST and merchant fees. Come prepared in comfortable activewear, bring your sense of curiosity, and get ready to discover new parts of Sydney’s green spaces.
