Join us on September 18, 2027, at Jennings State Forest in Middleburg, Florida, for an unforgettable running experience that highlights National Recovery Month and mental health awareness. This unique race offers participants the chance to contribute to a worthy cause while enjoying the scenic Sandridge Trail. The event features a single distance of 9 kilometers, but runners have three time options: 3 hours, 6 hours, or 12 hours. Each participant will traverse an approximately 2.75-mile loop that winds through beautiful natural surroundings, providing ample opportunities to reflect and reconnect with nature. The race is designed as a cupless event, meaning participants must bring their own handheld water bottles or hydration vests for refills at the aid stations. The well-stocked start/finish area will provide standard ultra-running fare including Skratch electrolytes and pickle juice, ensuring runners stay hydrated and energized throughout the day. An additional hydration-only station is located near the midpoint of each loop to further support participants' needs during their journey through the forest trails. Upon completion or at any point during your run, you'll have access to your vehicle for rest or resupply. The venue offers ample space for setting up canopies and tents if needed, creating a comfortable environment where runners can enjoy downtime between loops while still being close to the action. In addition to the physical challenge of running in scenic landscapes, this event aims to raise awareness about recovery issues by donating proceeds to local entities such as Sombrero Outreach Foundation and Foundations of Freedom. These organizations play crucial roles in supporting individuals on their path toward sobriety through residential facilities and community programs. Participants can look forward to a variety of post-race treats including bacon, quesadillas, burgers, dogs, brats, and the world-famous chorizo and egg burritos from Mike Martinez. Custom-designed medals by Steve Dean will be awarded at the finish line along with highly coveted "Slow A$$" awards for those who embrace their unique pace. This event promises a blend of physical challenge, community support, and scenic beauty that makes it more than just another race—it's an experience to remember.
