Sorbéranne 2026

On October 17, 2026, the CTS is set to host the sixth edition of La Sorbéranne VTT near Sornières. This annual cycling event offers five distinct routes catering to all skill levels and endurance capacities, each winding through picturesque landscapes around Valfleury and Saint-Christophe-en-Jarez.
The longest route stretches over 55 kilometers with a challenging elevation gain of 1400 meters, providing an exhilarating mix of steep climbs and technical descents. Cyclists can expect to encounter rugged terrain that showcases the region's natural beauty, including panoramic views from high points along each course.
For those who prefer shorter distances, there are routes ranging between 30 and 42 kilometers, designed with both regular riders and beginners in mind. The shortest route at 22 kilometers offers a blend of forest trails and paved roads leading to the Gachet area.
Electric mountain bikes (VTTAE) are welcome but participants should ensure their battery life is sufficient for the chosen distance. A helmet is strongly recommended due to the technical nature of some sections on all routes.
The event kicks off from the Pôle Sportif de l’Aréna in Sornières, located next to the municipal swimming pool and Parc Fraisse. Cyclists will enjoy a range of facilities including designated changing rooms for post-ride showers and bike cleaning stations near the start/finish area.
In addition to the thrill of riding through stunning countryside, participants can look forward to raffle prizes and a main draw with attractive giveaways. The atmosphere is expected to be friendly and supportive as riders gather from across the region to celebrate this beloved cycling tradition.
