The Sooke Hills 50km and 25km trail races take place on Saturday, 30 May 2026 at 7:00 AM PDT in Sooke Potholes Provincial Park, Sooke, British Columbia, Canada. The courses tour the finest trails in the Sooke Hills, including Peden Lake Trail, Lakes Connector Trail, Shields Lake Viewpoint, Grassy Lake Trail, Monument Trail, Harrison Trail, and the Galloping Goose. The 50km route summits Mt. Empress, Monument Mountain, and Mt. Quimper with approximately 2,000 meters of ascent plus long runnable sections.

The 25km route starts just below parking lot 2 of the Potholes Regional Park, climbs the Peden Lake Trail, follows the Lakes Connector Trail, and continues to the Sooke Mountain Park Road trail. Runners then take the Charters Connector to the Grassy Lake Trail, climb the steep Monument Trail, descend via Harrison Trail toward the Galloping Goose, cross the Todd Creek Trestle, and return to the start/finish line.
The 50km course begins similarly but then adds the Empress Mountain summit, continues on the Empress Mountain Trail to Shields Lake, then toward Grassy Lake and Harrison Trail. Runners descend to the Goose, drop onto the Grassy Lake Trail, climb back over Monument Mountain, return to Shields Lake, continue on Lakes Connector to Sooke Mountain Road, climb the Quimper Bike Push-up trail, descend to Harbourview parking lot, climb back to Charter Creek Connector, descend Grassy Lake Trail, climb back to the Goose, and return to the finish.
