SOK Knallens & AHNVIKS FrontYard

Join us on August 29th for an exhilarating day of running, community spirit, and friendly competition at the SOK Knallens & AHNVIKS FrontYard. The race takes place at AHNVIKS' facilities located at Företagsgatan 40 in Viared, Borås, with the first wave starting promptly at 9:00 AM.
Throughout the day, participants will enjoy refreshments provided by Coca-Cola UMARA sports drinks, water, chips, and cinnamon swirl cookies. The race venue offers convenient access to toilets and is staffed throughout the event for your safety and comfort. Feel free to leave any personal belongings in a secure area while you focus on running.
FrontYard is a unique Swedish concept that combines interval racing with ultrarunning into an innovative and entertaining competition format. Runners complete 3-kilometer laps, but each subsequent lap has a shorter time limit: the first lap must be completed within 30 minutes; the second in 29 minutes; the third in 28 minutes; and so on.
To proceed to the next round, you need to finish your current lap before the allotted time. If you miss this deadline, your race is over. After each new wave starts, all remaining runners gather for a unified start line-up. As the day progresses and laps become increasingly challenging, fewer participants remain in contention.
Unlike many other ultramarathons that continue until everyone drops out or reaches predetermined distances, FrontYard has a natural finish when no one can complete another lap within the stipulated time limit. The winner is determined by who completes their final lap first, showcasing endurance, strategic pacing, mental toughness, and perseverance—whether your goal is to run several laps or be among the last runners standing.
