The small town of Valley, AL has a unique holiday tradition. Each year a carousel is set up for children of all ages to enjoy free of charge. This tradition started as an outreach hosted by the local textile mills that were such a huge part of our community. Sadly after the mills all closed the burden of the Merry Go Round fell to the city government. This tradition carries on largely through donations from local businesses. This ultrarunning event will serve as an aid to help carry on this tradition.
I have found so much joy in running this little 2 mile loop along the banks of the Chattahoochee River! I host an event at this location in the spring but I really wanted to run 100 miles out here. Why not do it with friends? In year 1 of the event we saw several 100 mile finishes, several distance prs, and a world record tying finish of 50 100 mile finishes in a year. Year 2 was a blast where we met tons of new friends and saw some amazing people push their limits. It was an exciting time and we cant wait to see what year 3 brings!
Each runner will receive an event tshirt if registered by tshirt deadline of 11/25/2026. Each finisher will recevie a unique finishers award. All runner who reach the 100 mile distance will receive a custom MuddyCrudd belt buckle.

Valley is a city in Chambers County, Alabama, United States. Valley was incorporated in 1980 combining the four textile mill villages of Fairfax, Langdale, River View, and Shawmut. As of the 2020 census it had a population of 10,529. The city lies on the western bank of the Chattahoochee River, the state border between Alabama and Georgia. Valley is a pilot city for the Alabama Communities of Excellence program, a non-profit that partners with governments, businesses, and universities to prepare participating communities for a more vibrant future. It is included in the LaGrange, Georgia Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Greater Atlanta Combined Statistical Area.
