About the Event

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of the Surrey Hills as you navigate through some of the South East's premier mountain bike trails at this annual mountain bike orienteering event. Whether you're an expert rider or someone looking for a countryside adventure, there’s something here to suit all levels and interests.
The heart of the event takes place on meticulously maintained tracks that remain accessible throughout the year, offering participants a diverse range of challenges. Each competitor will receive a detailed OS A3 waterproof map with marked checkpoints, allowing you to plan your route over the course of 2 or 3 hours to visit as many checkpoints as possible.
Participants can enter solo, in pairs, or as family teams and are required to use the MapRun App on their iPhone or Android device. Shortly before the event, a link will be sent for downloading the specific course details, along with instructions on how to input your PIN code at the start line—remember not to activate it until you're ready to begin.
Refreshments await upon your return to base camp where prizes are awarded to those who excel in this year's competition and kick off their participation in the 2026/27 season. If orienteering is new territory, basic map boards will be available for borrowing during registration.
The event is organised by SLOW MBO and regional clubs following BMBO guidelines; no membership with SLOW MBO is required but a current 2026 BMBO Day Rider membership is recommended as it’s free to sign up or renew. Start times range from 9:00am to 10:30am, providing ample opportunity for all skill levels to enjoy the day.
