The 50K course features an extended 7 km segment atop this historic landmark, demanding exceptional grit from every runner.
Starting from the picturesque Gubei Water Town, where traditional architecture, canals, and lantern-lit streets create a serene yet vibrant atmosphere, the event combines technical trail running with a rugged, scenic, and culturally rich route. Registration includes a two-day pass to Gubei Water Town, providing athletes a chance to immerse themselves in local heritage and relaxation after the race. Beyond the race, visitors can enjoy hot springs, explore ancient watchtowers, and savour regional mountain cuisine. A fun cultural highlight is the evening light displays along the Wall, offering a rare chance to see this historic monument illuminated.
The event is set in the dramatic mountains northeast of Beijing, unfolding around the breathtaking Simatai Great Wall, one of the few sections that retains its original Ming Dynasty character. The area is easily accessible via Beijing's international airports and well-connected road transfers, making it a surprisingly convenient escape into rugged nature.
What's included in entry: finisher medal, goodie bag, event t-shirt, e-certificate/e-diploma, timing chip (single use), photo service, drink stations, medical assistance, bag drop, accident insurance.
