Embrace the spirit of endurance and honor at the SIACHEN ASCENT 2026, a virtual tribute run that pays homage to India’s unsung heroes who stand guard on one of Earth's highest battlefields. This unique race is designed to commemorate Operation Meghdoot, which secured control over the Siachen Glacier in 1984.
The Siachen Glacier spans an impressive 76 kilometers (47 miles) and stands as a testament to human resilience against extreme conditions. The terrain ranges from elevations of 3,620 meters to 5,753 meters, with Bana Post reaching the staggering height of 21,753 feet (6,632 meters). This challenging environment is characterized by temperatures as low as -60°C and winds that can exceed 100 kilometers per hour. Frostbite sets in within minutes, making survival a daily battle.
Participants have three mission options to choose from:
- MISSION 1: Bana Post Tribute (6.632 KM) – A single-day challenge dedicated to the highest post named after Naib Subedar Bana Singh, recipient of India’s Param Vir Chakra.
- MISSION 2: Operation Meghdoot Tribute (19.84 KM over 5 days) – An homage to April 13, 1984, when Indian forces secured the Saltoro Ridge and Siachen Glacier during this strategic operation.
- MISSION 3: Conquer The Glacier Ultimate (76 KM over 15 days) – A grueling endurance expedition that covers the entire length of the glacier. This route is for those with an unstoppable spirit who wish to push their limits in extreme conditions.
Regardless of which mission you choose, all participants will receive a premium kit upon completion:

In addition, participants will be provided with:
